Screw Presenter Seals in Quality During Bagging Process

Let’s face it, it’s tough to do the same thing over and over without the mind wandering. A license plate holder manufacturer was looking to shore up customer satisfaction by targeting their highly repetitive install hardware kit bagging process.

Each kit required 4 each of 2 different screw types, one set for each variant of the industry standard on-vehicle mounting holes. Also facing the prospect of missing hardware resulting in a flopping product damaging painted body surfaces, they wanted to double down on quality control measures.

Visumatic worked with their process improvement team to develop a fool-proof screw presenter system for dispensing the proper kit into the bag. A single programmable control platform was built using two feeders, one for each screw type, with an ergonomic single output dispensing point for bag presentation. By taking over the sorting/counting for the operator, they were able to focus on presenting and sealing the bags, making the job much smoother.

This allowed a simple, cost-effective way to deliver high quality kits with perfect counts every time. And with a faster batch cycle time performance, they now have the capacity to increase production without adding labor.
